First of all, let me say that the term "dickweed" was used somewhat affectionately by my wife Debra, when we had differences of opinions usually concerning religion and politics...As any of our friends would tell you, Debra and I could get into very passionate discussions regarding religion and politics.. She, being a slightly conservative catholic, versus my somewhat agnostic and liberal views... Needless to say, at the end of of our discussions, she usually concluded them with the comment that I was a "dickweed" and we moved on..

Although she was weakened by the Chemo Therapy procedures, she and I would lie in bed some days, discussing our differences and she would find strength to hold her own in our conversations and conclude them with the "dickweed" comment...

I still miss her...

Some days, Debra was just too tired to talk and while I lay with her while she rested, I would often watch the Golf Channel.. While viewing, I saw an ad, featuring VJ Singh and St Judes Hospital. It turns out that VJ donated $5000.00 to the St Judes Foundation, for every eagle that he during the PGA season... I thought that it was a great idea and relayed it to SBDW, BKDW, QBDW and Maudy DW at our local after golf hang-out...

Needless to say, the DWs were born !

Unfortunately, since we are all fairly high high handicappers, and pretty cheap, revisions had to be made. At the beginning of each round, handicaps are established and donations are made, based on birdies and eagles... If not enough birdies and eagles are made during our rounds, my sole purpose as the HDW is to levy fines (usually $1.00) to the DWs that didn't contribute during the round...

After Debras' passing in April of 2005, My DWs stood tall and supported me through the most difficult time in my life..I am forever indebted...

As a result of their efforts, I have officially designated myself to be the HDW of our Bethesda Chapter, FOREVER and any DW that opposes me, will be fined $1.00...
